Fulham keeper Taylor appeared to bring Davies down in the incident that gave Tottenham a penalty, and referee Graham Barber applied the letter of the law by giving him his marching orders.
French tactician Tigana was far from happy with the ruling and confirmed an appeal will be lodged.
An unhappy Tigana said: "The ref made a mistake, Davies dived and you have to take sanctions against that sort of thing if you want to stop it happening.
"We will appeal against it. Maik is very disappointed and his departure made life very hard for us."
Taylor felt he was unlucky to be dismissed, as he added: "I definitely touched the ball and if the ref had been in line he would have seen that."
The dismissal will lead to a ban for Taylor, which will leave Fulham with a major goalkeeping headache as Edwin van der Sar is still out with an ankle injury.
