The left back's contract with the Italian side expires at the end of June and he is ready to sign an agreement with Espanyol later this week.
Wome spent last season on loan at Premiership outfit Fulham and made 18 appearances for the club during his stint at Loftus Road.
But Cottagers manager Chris Coleman opted not to make the move permanent after excluding Wome from his plans when he replaced Jean Tigana at the helm.
Despite his relative youth at 24, Wome has accrued vast experience since moving to Europe from his homeland to join Vicenza in 1996.
He has also turned out for Lucchese and Roma but has spent the past four years on Bologna's books and will now continue his career in Spain.
Wome will become the Catalan club's first signing of the summer and his impending capture will terminate Espanyol's interest in Marcos.
Espanyol had been expected to sign the Real Valladolid defender but Wome has emerged as a cheaper alternative and the African ace will be plying his trade at Montjuic next term.
