The Welshman took over from Jean Tigana at the end of last term and has led The Cottagers to eighth place in The Premiership - after starting as relegation candidates.
No-one had expected the former defender to have taken to life as a manager so quickly and successfully, and that is due to be rewarded with a fresh contract.
Coleman currently is on a one-year rolling contract and that expires at the end of the season - but defender Zat Knight has revealed that his boss has already begun talks over a new deal,
"Chris is in talks over a new contract and everybody is happy about that," Knight told the Express.
"We can see what he's trying to build at Fulham. Other players knew him as a good friend before his injury, now they know him as a good manager.
"He's somebody who will talk to you and take you to one side and he has helped me a lot on a personal level."
