Fulham manager Chris Coleman has revealed he is to sit down with Lee Clark.
Fulham manager Chris Coleman has revealed he is to sit down with Lee Clark and discuss fresh terms with the experienced midfielder.
Clark has returned from injury to boost The Cottagers and Coleman is refusing to be downbeat despite being unable to bring in any new faces during January's transfer window.
A move for Manchester City full back Ben Thatcher collapsed but Coleman expects the speculation regarding some of his most influential players to continue, even though Edwin van der Sar and Luis Boa Morte have signed new deals.
"Lee has been really positive since coming back and has brought an edge to the team," Coleman told Fulham's official website.
"He's got a strong opinion on the game and, since he's been back, it's been no coincidence that we've been harder to beat.
"I'm delighted for him because he's worked hard and, up until a few months ago, he was at the end of his tether because he couldn't break the barrier where he could get back training with us.
"He kept breaking down but I'm delighted he's back in and now I expect we'll be sitting down to talk about his contract."
Fulham are unhappy that the likes of Boa Morte and van der Sar continue to be linked with big clubs despite penning new contracts.
"The speculation won't go away," he complained. "I expect it to be there between now and the end of the season for Boa Morte, van der Sar and [Steed] Malbranque, even though two of them have signed extended contracts.
"But I didn't get any bids in the transfer window and, hopefully, I won't get any in the summer."
