Clark heads Fulham leavers

Club captain Lee Clark is one of seven players to have been released by Fulham.

The experienced midfielder has not been offered a new contract to extend his six-year association with The Cottagers.

Clark recently expressed his fears that his time in West London was nearing a conclusion after hearing nothing regarding a new deal.

Fulham boss Chris Coleman had hinted that the 32-year-old would be rewarded with an extension, on the proviso he accepted reduced terms.

But Coleman has now confirmed that Clark will not be playing for the club next term with the former Newcastle United man leading the exodus from Craven Cottage.

French full back Jerome Bonnissel is the only other senior professional to be axed by Coleman, who hopes to improve on a disappointing campaign.

Bonnissel spent two years with The Cottagers but did not play this term due to a succession of injuries and he has been allowed to leave the club.

A quintet of youngsters have also been released by Coleman, with Malik Buari, Sean Doherty, Ross Flitney, Alex Lawless and Stuart Noble not offered new contracts.

Buari made a handful of first team appearances for Fulham, while Doherty has recently been on trial with Dutch club ADO Den Haag.

Goalkeeper Flitney has had loan spells at Doncaster and Yeading this term, while Noble has accrued experience at Torquay and Northampton.
