Steve Marlet could be on his way out of Fulham with a move to Wolfsburg.
Fulham forward Steve Marlet could be set to continue his career in Germany as Wolfsburg are keen to lure the former French international to Die Bundesliga.
The 31-year-old has never settled at Craven Cottage since his é¼18 million transfer from Lyon in 2001 and spent the last two seasons with Marseille, but failed to win a permanent move to Stade Velodrome.
Marlet has 12 months left on his contract with Fulham and, although he has been linked with French teams including Auxerre, Lille, Nancy and Le Mans, he is still waiting to resolve his future.
Wolfsburg, who are desperately searching to find a successor to Bulgarian winger Martin Petrov, confirmed that Fulham is ready to off-load the unsettled striker for a transfer fee believed to be in the region of é¼2 million.
"We have reached an agreement with Fulham and now it's up to the player to decide whether he wants to join us or stay in France," Wolfsburg general manager Thomas Strunz told Wolfsburger Nachrichten.
