Fulham v Lincoln preview

Chris Coleman will name a much-changed Fulham side for the visit of Lincoln City.

Chris Coleman will name a much-changed Fulham side for the visit of Lincoln City in the Carling Cup second round.

Heidar Helguson and Collins John will start in attack in place of Brian McBride and Tomasz Radzinski and midfielders Papa Bouba Diop and Niclas Jensen are both ruled out through injury.

Coleman has promised wholesale changes from the weekend defeat to West Ham but still expects a strong showing.

"There will be a few guys out there with a point to prove," he told Sky Sports News. "Hopefully it won't be a depleted team as a lot of the guys have had first team experience.

"Heidar was last through the door, Collins John hasn't done anything wrong it's just Brian and 'Radi' have looked so good together.

"But, when those two start having a bit of a dodgy patch, as they will, because it's human nature, that's when they will get their chance.

"I'd rather Heidar and John both play and have a chance to get 90 minutes under their belt and hopefully get us a couple of goals."

Frenchman Philippe Christanval is in line for his first start for The Cottagers.

Lincoln boss Keith Alexander is still without Steve Robinson, who has a foot injury, but the Red Imps manager does not have too many selection headaches ahead of the trip to the capital.

Alexander may freshen things up after a home defeat in the local affair with Peterborough United at the weekend with Francis Green among those pushing for a start.
