Papa Bouba Diop insists he is content at Craven Cottage.Papa Bouba Diop has moved to assuage Fulham fans' fears by insisting he is content at Craven Cottage.
The Senegalese giant has proved himself to be one of The Premiership's most accomplished midfielders since arriving at Craven Cottage from Lens in 2004.
His performances have caught the eye of some of Europe's heavyweights and talk has centred on him being lured away from Fulham in January.
Cottagers chief Chris Coleman says it is imperative the club retain the services of the 27-year-old and it will be music to the Welshman's ears that Diop has no plans to jump ship.
"I am very, very happy here," said Diop.
"I like where I live, am really content with my surroundings and am very happy at Fulham.
"Everything you read is speculation and there is nothing I can do to prevent that. That's football.
"If people are taking note - be it the general public or the media - it must mean that I'm doing something good on the pitch."
Diop is not prepared to accept mediocrity at Fulham, as he added: "I am not happy to stand still. I'll always want to progress and keep proving myself as a player so that people talk about me even more.
"If people make good remarks, it shows I'm working hard and working well."
