Fulham boss Chris Coleman is desperate to tie down Steed Malbranque to a new deal.Fulham boss Chris Coleman is desperate to tie down Steed Malbranque to a new deal.
Malbranque has been linked with a move away from Fulham as he has just 18 months to run on his current contract.
Manchester City tried to sign him last summer and they are believed to be ready to make a new move for the Frenchman during this month's transfer window.
Malbranque proved his worth to Fulham at the weekend by scoring the winner against Newcastle and Coleman insists they have no plans to lose him.
"We're desperate to extend his contract and it's up to Steed what happens," said Coleman.
"We're delighted with him, he's fully committed to us and we're not looking to sell him. We want to add quality to the squad."
