Fulham star Papa Bouba Diop has finally signed a new deal at the club.
Fulham star Papa Bouba Diop has finally signed a new deal to keep him at Craven Cottage.
The Senegal star has been locked in talks with Fulham officials for some time over a new contract.
Fulham chief Chris Coleman has expressed his desire to keep hold of Diop, who has proved to be a massive success at the club since his arrival from Lens in the summer of 2004.
The West London side were keen to tie down Diop to a new long-term deal to ward off potential suitors.
The new deal will keep Diop at Fulham until the summer of 2009 and the news will provide a massive boost for the club for the rest of the season as they look to end any lingering relegation fears.
"I am very happy to have signed a new deal with Fulham as I enjoy playing my football at this club," Diop told the club's official website.
"I have been out for a while because of the African Cup of Nations and injury and I am looking forward to joining the squad on Saturday at Sunderland, as obviously it has been very difficult for me not to play with the team.
"I am determined to help finish the season on a high note by playing my part in the remaining games, and am looking forward to my future being with Fulham."
