Coleman rules out Boa move

Chris Coleman is confident Luis Boa Morte will stay at Fulham.

Fulham boss Chris Coleman has rubbished reports suggesting Luis Boa Morte could leave the club in the summer.

Boa Morte raised doubts over his future earlier this month by revealing he would be interested in moving to a bigger club.

Real Madrid have been linked with a shock move for the Portuguese winger, but Coleman is determined to keep him at Craven Cottage.

Coleman revealed that he has talked with Boa Morte about his plans for the future to reassure him of the club's ambition.

"These stories about our leading players have happened so many times," said Coleman.

"But I've already sat down with Luis as my captain and explained to him the route we are trying to go and the players we are trying to sign.

"He's a big part of that. He was brave enough to commit himself to us and we want to build the team around Luis, Malbranque, Diop and Antti Niemi - so I don't take any notice.

"When I was Fulham captain, Kevin Keegan kept me informed about future plans as did Paul Bracewell and Jean Tigana.

"Being captain is a big responsibility and Luis is one of our most influential players and wants to know the direction we are going."
