Fulham's Simon Elliott is a doubt to start the new Premiership campaign due to injury.
Fulham's New Zealand midfielder Simon Elliott is a doubt to start the new Premiership campaign due to injury.
The former Columbus Crew and Los Angeles Galaxy man collected a calf strain while the squad was preparing for the new campaign in Austria.
Cottagers boss Chris Coleman has confirmed the club enjoyed a successful pre-season trip, apart from the knock collected by Elliott.
Depending on the severity of the strain, Elliott could require from two weeks' rest to three months on the sidelines recovering from the blow.
Either way, the Wellington-born midfielder is now a doubt to feature in Fulham's game against Manchester United on August 20, live on Prem Plus.
"The only down side of the trip was that we lost Simon Elliott through a calf injury," Coleman told the club's official website.
"We're taking every precaution with him to protect that, and make sure we can get him back as quickly as possible.
"It's disappointing, but it is just one of those things that happens."
