Drobny is available on a free transfer after being released by Fulham prior to the close of the transfer window in August.
He was linked to Newcastle United, while he had been tipped to join Dynamo Kiev after declining the chance to return home to Sigma Olomouc.
But the keeper has now pitched up at Portman Road as Ipswich look for cover after an injury to Lewis Price.
Town boss Jim Magilton is keen to assess Drobny and concedes the 27-year-old has a strong chance of being offered a contract.
"Lewis is going to be missing for a few weeks so we decided to bring in Jaroslav on trial," Magilton told the club's official website.
"We will have a look at him, but there's certainly a chance that we will look to sign him for a month to give us some cover while Lewis is recovering."
During a year at Craven Cottage, Drobny failed to make a senior appearance for Fulham and was squeezed out after Chris Coleman signed his compatriot Jan Lastuvka.
