Chris Coleman has cooled his interest in bringing Vikash Dhorasoo to Fulham.
Chris Coleman has cooled his interest in bringing Vikash Dhorasoo to Fulham and admits a deal for Alexei Smertin is 'far from getting done'.
Former France international Dhorasoo is available on a free transfer after being sacked by Paris Saint Germain in the autumn.
He has been linked with several Premiership clubs, including Bolton Wanderers, but trained with Fulham last week.
However, after assessing the schemer in training, Coleman is opting not to pursue his interest in Dhorasoo.
"He trained with us last week, but we will not be taking it any further," said Coleman in The Times.
Coleman is keen to bring Smertin back to the Premiership, though, after edging ahead of West Ham United in the race for the Dinamo Moscow midfielder.
But the Fulham boss also accepts that finalising a deal for the former Chelsea man is not proving straightforward.
He added: "We've talked to Alexei Smertin and his people, but it's far from getting done.
"He's a good player, but if we don't get him, you have to look at Moritz Volz who's playing with Michael Brown and is doing tremendous for us.
"Whoever comes in will have to take the jersey off one of them and it won't be easy."
