Cottagers boss pleased to see off Latics

Fulham manager Martin Jol was delighted to topple in-form Wigan Athletic 2-1 at Craven Cottage. The Latics had given their survival prospects a massive shot in the arm of late with wins over Manchester United and Arsenal. It was Wigan's third game in a 10-day spell and Jol knew it would be difficult for his high-flying team to secure the three points. Roberto Martinez's men have been playing well and Dutchman Jol was delighted his troops were able to keep their big guns quiet.

Deserved

"I felt it was well deserved. We didn't play them off the park, but that would have been impossible," commented Jol. "They've played against Arsenal and Manchester United and they beat them. Even against Chelsea they should have had a result. "We know what they were trying to do. They were trying to break with Moses, Maloney, if he plays, and Gomez. "They did well in their style. They've changed their style and they've got results so compliments to my team."
