Swindon Town boss Andy King has completed the loan signing of Wigan defender Paul Mitchell.Swindon Town boss Andy King has completed the loan signing of Wigan defender Paul Mitchell.
King has moved quickly to fill the void left by Andy Gurney's shock move to Swansea by bringing in Mitchell as a replacement.
Mitchell specialises as a right back but is also an able performer in midfield and can also operate as a central defender.
The versatile performer will initially join The Robins for a month and goes straight into the Swindon squad for their trip to Colchester at the weekend.
Meanwhile, King admits he is desperate to bring loan sensation Darius Henderson to the club on a permanent basis.
Henderson has proved an integral performer since arriving at Swindon from Gillingham and King concedes his performances may have alerted other clubs.
"It's a difficult one really, he has done fantastically well. We should have done it even before he came here on loan,'' confirmed King to the club's official website.
"I think on this occasion we have created our own monster because he (Henderson) is doing so well, it might attract attention from others.
"The worry I have is that all of a sudden I am not only negotiating with Gillingham but am bartering with a load of other teams for a strong, quality centre forward.
"I am telling everyone now for the last time; I would like to bring Darius Henderson here on a full time basis. If I can do the appropriate deals with Gillingham correctly then I will take that opportunity.''
