West Bromwich Albion manager Bryan Robson is keen to hold on to striker Nathan Ellington.
Ellington moved to The Hawthorns from Wigan last summer but has been linked with a move back to his former club after Paul Jewell admitted he was on the lookout for reinforcements in attack.
However, Robson says he will fight to keep the 24-year-old at the club as The Baggies look to make an instant return to the top-flight.
"The chairman has backed me and I don't have to sell Nathan," confirmed Robson.
"Wigan can say what they like, but Nathan only signed for us last summer and we don't want to sell him.
"He had a stop-start season because of injuries, but he is a major part of my plans.
"Nathan has proved that he can score 25 goals in The Championship and that's what we want him to do next season.
"I will fight tooth and nail to keep him. There's no way I want to sell Nathan to Wigan or anybody else."
