Wigan Athletic have completed the capture of Crystal Palace's Emmerson Boyce.
Wigan Athletic have completed the capture of Crystal Palace defender Emmerson Boyce.
The 26-year-old leaves Selhurst Park to join The Latics on a four-year deal, despite attracting the interest of fellow Premiership sides Charlton Athletic and Fulham.
The former Luton Town man leaves The Eagles after just two seasons, having joined the Championship outfit on a free transfer in the summer of 2004.
As earlier revealed on skysports.com, Boyce completed a medical at The JJB Stadium before sealing his move north to the Lancashire club in a deal thought to be worth £1.75 million.
Palace were prepared to let Boyce move on this summer after the player refused to extend his contract that was set to expire in 12 months' time.
Boyce's arrival at Wigan will fuel speculation that want-away defender Pascal Chimbonda could be on his way out of the club, with the player priced at £6 million by Latics boss Paul Jewell.
