Emmerson Boyce is happy with his decision to quit London and move to Wigan.
Wigan defender Emmerson Boyce is happy with his decision to quit London in favour of a switch to the North West.
Boyce moved to The JJB Stadium from Crystal Palace over the summer to link up with a rising Latics side.
The 27-year-old had the chance to work with former manager Iain Dowie at Charlton but opted for a new challenge with Paul Jewell's Wigan.
"I could have stayed in London, but I wanted to experience something different," Boyce told the Daily Star.
"Life up here is very different to London, but I'm enjoying it.
"People are more relaxed and smile more. They also go out of their way to help you."
Boyce returns to London on Saturday to face Fulham with Wigan still looking for their first away win.
"Fulham is a massive game for us," Boyce said. "We should have got something out of all of our away games.
"The performances away from home haven't been that bad but we do need to start picking up points on our travels."
