Wigan have been fined £20,000 by The FA and warned about their future conduct following their 1-0 loss to Newcastle on 1st September.
The fine comes after Wigan's players confronted referee Steve Bennett on two occasions in the game, which saw Kevin Kilbane sent off for a second bookable offence following his aerial challenge with Alan Smith.
Wigan admitted two charges of failing to ensure that their players and officials conducted themselves in an orderly fashion at a Regulatory Commission hearing on Monday.
But they have no right to appeal against Kilbane's dismissal as it came from two yellow cards.
Speaking of the fine, a club spokesman said on Tuesday: "We confirm and acknowledge the punishment but do not wish to make any further comment."
