Nigel Clough has confirmed he will explore the possibility of keeping Tomasz Cywka at Derby next season.

Rams boss impressed by on-loan attacker's impact

Derby County manager Nigel Clough has confirmed he will explore the possibility of keeping Tomasz Cywka at Pride Park next season. Cywka joined the Rams on loan from Wigan Athletic last month and he has featured in the club's previous three Championship games. He is out of contract at Wigan in the summer, but there are some clauses in the deal which Clough has described as "complicated". The Poland Under 21 international recently confirmed he wanted to wait until the end of the season before assessing his future after impressing Clough with his ability.

Lively

"We will try to clarify the situation," Clough told the Derby Telegraph. "He is the closest we have got to Kris Commons. "Tomasz gets hold of the ball and he is a player we would like to have around either on loan or permanently, so we will be exploring that. "He has only played a couple of games for us, but he has looked lively and bright. "He has done the same when we have seen him play for Wigan's reserves this season, so he will get another start against Bristol City and we will take it from there."
