Andre Villas-Boas' Spurs side know therefore they will not be facing Valencia or Sevilla, or French club Lyon.
They will also not be drawn against the other two English clubs in the draw - Wigan and Swansea, who will be in the second pot of seeds.
Spurs' 3-0 win over Dinamo Tbilisi on Thursday night followed a 5-0 first-leg victory and has established the north London side as one of the favourites for the competition.
Wigan qualified for the group stage automatically as FA Cup winners, while Swansea booked their passage in the group stage courtesy of a 6-3 aggregate win over Petrolul Ploiesti.
The top two in each of the 12 groups will go into a knockout round of 32 clubs including the eight sides that finish third in the Champions League groups.
Fenerbahce have been expelled from the competition for match-fixing offences and will be replaced in the group stage draw by Cypriots APOEL, who were selected randomly as a 'lucky loser' from the play-off rounds.
Before the draw - which is due to start at 11.45am BST - Dutch side AZ Alkmaar and Atromitos of Greece have to complete their match.
Thursday's second-leg tie was abandoned after a fire broke out at the AFAS Stadion in the 57th minute. They will re-start at 10am on Friday.
The 48 teams in the draw will be drawn into 12 groups of four.
