League One round-up: Charlton deny Sheffield United victory as Bolton go second

Bolton take advantage as Scunthorpe, Sheffield United and Rochdale all fail to win

Patrick Bauer’s added-time equaliser against high-flying Sheffield United ensured Karl Robinson got off to an unbeaten start as Charlton manager.

Robinson was heading towards defeat in his first game in charge after Mark Duffy's opener but Bauer scored with a header from a late Charlton corner as the Blades were denied a fifth straight win.

Zach Clough's seventh goal of the season was enough to give Bolton a 1-0 win over Northampton as the Trotters leapfrogged Sheffield United to go second in the table.

Scunthorpe's lead at the top of League One is down to four points after their five-match winning streak was ended with a 1-1 draw with Oxford United at Glanford Park.

Duane Holmes put Scunthorpe ahead in the 35th minute but Phil Edwards equalised two minutes after half-time as Oxford extended their unbeaten run to three matches.

Bradford remain fourth despite a 1-0 loss at Swindon, Anton Rodgers with the only goal of the game in the 19th minute at the County Ground.

Frank Noble, Jay Emmanuel-Thomas and Mark Byrne were on target in a 3-0 win for Gillingham against Rochdale, who stay fifth despite defeat at the Priestfield Stadium.

Jay O'Shea's double helped Chesterfield to a 3-2 win over Bristol Rovers as they came from behind to register their fifth win of the season.

Peter Hartley gave Rovers a third-minute lead but Ian Evatt's equaliser, and O'Shea's goals either side of half-time put the Spireites 3-1 up. Billy Bodin pulled a goal back with just under a quarter of an hour to play but Chesterfield held on for their fifth win of the season.

Millwall fought back from two goals down to earn a thrilling 3-2 win at Bury. James Vaughan scored twice in the second half to put the home side two goals in front but a 69th-minute red card for Niall Maher for a foul in the penalty box let Millwall back into the game.

Shaun Williams converted the resulting spot kick before Calum Butcher levelled four minutes from time. And Aiden O'Brien scored an added-time winner as Millwall condemned Bury to a 10th straight loss.

Managerless MK Dons leapfrogged Coventry in the table after Ed Upson scored twice in a 2-1 win over the Sky Blues. Upson's first half opener was cancelled out by Ben Stevenson, but the Coventry academy graduate was sent off for serious foul play in the second half. And Upson popped up with the winner 10 minutes from time as MK Dons recorded their first victory in nine matches.

Northern Ireland international Conor McLaughlin scored in added time as Fleetwood snatched a point with a 2-2 draw at AFC Wimbledon. Cian Bolger had given Fleetwood a 12th-minute lead before a Tom Elliot equaliser and a Dean Parrett second-half penalty for the home side.

Shrewsbury's game with Port Vale ended goalless and Peterborough's match at Oldham was the subject of a late postponement due to a frozen pitch.
