WARNOCK BLASTS 'CHEATING' HUGHES

OUTSPOKEN Sheffield United boss Neil Warnock has launched a blistering attack on West Brom's Lee Hughes, accusing him of getting Rob Ullathorne sent off during The Baggies' 2-1 win at The Hawthorns.

The Blades defender was dismissed by referee Michael Ryan for his second bookable offence in the 32nd minute of a scrappy first-half, but Warnock is furious with Hughes and believes he was to blame for the decision.

"The referee wasn't going to book him but Hughes ran 30 yards to him and said `You've just booked me for that so you must book him'," argued Warnock.

"Cheats don't prosper but Hughes won the game and shouldn't even have been on the pitch."

Albion took until the 62nd minute to score against ten-man United and, despite a debut goal from Paul Peschisolido, Hughes popped up to grab the winner with just six-minutes left in the match.

Warnock was happy at his side's performance but was furious that Hughes acted the way he did.

"It stinks to get a fellow professional sent off, although I wish I had someone like Hughes because he won the game," added Warnock. "But how we ended up with only ten men and West Brom had 11 I don't know.

"What I must do is get together a team of con-men, divers and players that referees can't understand.''
