The Saddlers' director of football has warned that he is not willing to be drawn into lengthy negotiation processes, saying: "I don't want to be messed around. It comes down to whether the players really want to play for Walsall or not. If not, then I will start looking in other directions."
Robert Ullathorne looks increasingly likely to be playing somewhere other than Bramall Lane next season after The Blades signed Shane Nicholson from Stockport County.
Sheffield United boss Neil Warnock confirmed: "We offered Ullathorne terms but following conversations with his representatives we are nowhere near a new deal. In the end I couldn't wait any longer to strengthen the squad."
Burnley have agreed a record-breaking shirt sponsorship deal with Lanway Corporate Business Systems which is thought to be worth a six-figure sum over the next two years, with chairman Barry Kilby saying that the club has "attracted one of the UK's leading names".
Marlon King has played down speculation linking him with a move away from the Priestfield Stadium.

Barnsley's Lee Crooks will join the rest of Nigel Spackman's squad for pre-season training after surgery on his knee injury.
Club physio Jim Webb confirmed: "He should be fine to start full training in the first weeks of pre-season training."
