Despite already being relegated, The Dons threatened to shock the promotion chasers when Wayne Gray handed the visitors the lead but a brace from namesake Andy ensured The Blades bounced back from three defeats on the trot.
In an open encounter in South Yorkshire, the deadlock was broken just before half time when Paddy Kenny brought down Malvin Kamara and Wayne Gray scored from the resulting penalty.
But five minutes after the interval, the home side were level when Alan Wright's corner was headed home by Andy Gray.
He then struck the woodwork and The Blades missed from the spot when Jack Lester dragged his penalty wide after he was felled by Nico Herzig.
Midway through the second half, United grabbed the points when Gray fired home after Michael Tonge's free kick found its way into his path.
