Former Stoke City forward Dean Crowe (pictured) has pitched up at Glanford Park while Sheffield United youngster Billy Sharp is also training with the League Two side.
Crowe was released by Oldham Athletic at the end of last season after spending only a few weeks at Boundary Park.
The 25-year-old joined The Latics from Luton Town on transfer deadline day but will now try to impress Laws, with a chance beckoning in Tuesday's friendly against Rangers.
Promising hot-shot Sharp has linked up with The Iron in an attempt to earn a loan move to the club.
Sharp was a regular scorer at youth and reserve level last term and proved his current wellbeing with a brace against Frickley on Saturday for The Blades' second string.
Blades manager Neil Warnock is keen for Sharp to accrue first team experience and he may be offered that by Laws.
