Chester have confirmed that they have received bids from two clubs for Danny Collins.Chester City have confirmed that they have received bids from two clubs - believed to be Sunderland and Sheffield United - for Danny Collins.
The highly rated central defender has been impressive for City since their promotion back to the Football League.
New Chester manager Ian Rush is keen to keep the 24-year-old, who switched to The Deva Stadium from Buckley Town in 2001.
Chester chairman Stephen Vaughan has now confirmed bids have been received.
"We have had bids for Danny," said Vaughan. "I am not prepared to divulge how much those bids were, but we are trying to build a squad at this club and not dismantle it.
"We are backing Ian Rush. If he wishes to sell a player we will back him, and if he wants to buy players we will also back him.
"We have a top young manager at Chester City and any decision regarding transfers in or out of players will be left totally up to him."
Meanwhile, Rush has distanced himself from talk that he may be interested in the Wales job, following Mark Hughes's decision to join Blackburn.
"My intention is to concentrate solely on Chester," said Rush.
"I have just got here and have many exciting plans for the future."
