The FA have rejected both Gary Breen and Andy Gray's red card appeals. The Football Association have rejected both Gary Breen and Andy Gray's red card appeals.
Both players were sent off after the pair were involved in an off-the-ball incident during the midweek Championship clash between Sheffield United and Sunderland at Bramall Lane.
Both clubs thought the dismissals were unwarranted and promptly lodged appeals on behalf of their players to overturn their three-match bans.
However, The FA felt there was not enough evidence to consider and they informed both clubs that Breen and Gray (pictured) must each spend three matches on the sidelines.
Breen will miss Sunderland's matches against Derby County, Millwall and Watford while Gray will sit out the matches against Brighton & Hove Albion, Gillingham and Nottingham Forest for The Blades.
