Cardiff quintet sign deals

Cardiff City have signed five of their players to new contracts on reduced terms.

Cardiff City have signed five of their players to new contracts on reduced terms at Ninian Park.

Striker Alan Lee (pictured), defenders Chris Barker and Rhys Weston and the goalkeeping duo of Neil Alexander and Tony Warner have extended their stays with the Championship club.

Lee was linked with a move away from The Bluebirds, with Sheffield United mentioned as being interested in the former Rotherham United hit-man.

Cardiff rejected a bid from Nottingham Forest for defender Barker while custodian Warner was also linked with a summer exit from the club.

Cardiff boss Dave Jones will be pleased with the commitment of the quintet to sign new deals on reduced wages for the coming campaign.
