Sheffield United have rejected a bid from Scunthorpe for striker Billy Sharp.Sheffield United have rejected a bid from Scunthorpe for striker Billy Sharp.
Sharp spent last season on loan at Rushden & Diamonds and impressed greatly with nine goals in 16 games.
Iron chief Brian Laws was hoping to land Sharp on a temporary basis, but Blades boss Neil Warnock wants his young striker to go to a League Two side in order to make sure he gets first team football.
Meanwhile, Scunthorpe are waiting to hear news on midfielder Jim Goodwin who was stretched off during a pre-season friendly.
It is feared Goodwin has sustained ligament damage, which would rule him out for the start of the season.
