Tigers hunt Black Cat

Hull City chairman Adam Pearson has confirmed the club are keen on Chris Brown.

Hull City chairman Adam Pearson has confirmed the club are keen on taking Chris Brown in a loan deal.

The promising Sunderland striker, 20-years-old, had looked set for a move to Barnsley but with a clutch of Championship clubs coveting his signature, decided to wait and weigh up his options.

Burnley are thought to be keen to land Brown, who scored against Manchester United's reserves last week, but it is Hull who have made their desire public.

City share an excellent relationship with their Premiership counterparts, leaving Pearson hopeful that an accord can be struck.

''Brown is someone we have been looking at but there are at least eight other Championship clubs who want to sign him,'' Pearson told the Hull Daily Mail.

''It is very early stages and the first thing that would have to happen is all Sunderland's players return from international duty this week free of injury.

''They might be willing to let the lad out on loan but there is a long way to go before he comes here.''
