The latest instalment from Sheffield United's Nick Montgomery. At the moment things are a bit bitter-sweet for me.
I have just signed my new contract which is obviously something I have been looking to do.
To pledge my immediate future to the club is great and I was delighted the club showed that commitment to me.
However, on the pitch things have changed a bit. After the Stoke win I was told by the manager that I would be rested.
I then sat out the Hull game, which we won, but then the FA Cup game came - which again I was rested for.
However, after losing the game with Colchester, I assumed that I may be back in line for a call but I was somewhat shocked to find out that I wasn't.
This is very hard for any player to take, but I just have to get on with it and try hard.
We have got a very hard month coming up and hopefully at some point I will get my chance again.
One of the games coming up is Reading and realistically we need to beat them if we want to catch them, given how well they are playing.
But again we just have to take one game at a time and just make sure we can take as many points as we can.
