Oldham Athletic favourite David Eyres has been released.
Oldham favourite David Eyres has been released after the League One outfit elected not to renew his contract.
The 42-year-old wide man has been gradually eased out this season but still marked his final game in an Oldham shirt with a goal, scoring against Scunthorpe at the weekend.
Despite his advanced years Eyres has no intention of hanging up his boots and is still likely to have plenty of suitors in the close-season.
"He has been a terrific servant and we all wish him well for the future," said Latics boss Ronnie Moore.
Eyres' lack of playing time this season has largely been down to the form of Paul Edwards, with the former Blackpool man to stay on at Boundary Park for another season.
Defender Danny Hall also looks like he could be on his way, whilst on-loan star Luke Beckett is in talks to make his move from Sheffield United a permanent arrangement.
