Sheffield United have released seven players from their Bramall Lane squad.
Premiership-bound Sheffield United have released seven players from their Bramall Lane squad.
With Blades boss Neil Warnock preparing for life in the top flight, he has informed several players they will not be involved with the South Yorkshire outfit next term.
They include veteran striker Bruce Dyer (pictured), who joined The Blades in the January transfer window from Championship rivals Stoke City.
Jamie Green, Adrian Harper, San Lee, Sharu Naraji and Kyle Nix have also been made surplus to requirements, while Gary Mulligan has joined League One side Gillingham on a free transfer.
Experienced defender Alan Wright has joined Simon Francis and Dominic Roma in being made available for transfer, while the club confirmed the retirements of striker Brian Deane and centre back Craig Short.
Blades assistant manager Stuart McCall's playing career also looks to be at an end after the club opted not to offer the former Scotland international a playing contract.
The news comes as The Blades have taken up the option to extend Warnock's existing contract for next season, with the United boss widely expected to pen a new three-year deal in the near future.
