Neil Warnock has revealed that he will be racking up the air miles.
Neil Warnock has revealed that he will be racking up the air miles between now and the end of December in order to cast an eye over some January transfer targets.
Sheffield United have their heads above the relegation zone after 16 games of the season, but Warnock is likely to be active in the market in January.
Warnock could have a sizeable transfer kitty at his disposal and he has dashed all over Europe this week in order to check on players and this is likely to continue.
"We are following up on previous recommendations and between my staff and myself we shall be targeting around eight matches across Europe ahead of the January transfer window," he said.
Michael Tonge and Chris Armstrong edged closer to fitness this week when showing no ill-effects from a behind-closed-doors friendly at Leeds' Thorp Arch training ground.
Knee injury victim Armstrong put in a 90-minute stint, while Tonge played for 25 minutes on his return from ankle ligament damage.
"Injury-wise, Armstrong and Tonge are in front of where we thought they would be at this stage," Warnock told the club's official website.
"I'm delighted that Chris had a full game and Michael got 25 minutes under his belt.
"Both had no reaction to their injuries, and we're hoping to arrange a similar game for next Tuesday."
