Rovers happy to keep Forte

Sean O'Driscoll is hoping Jonathan Forte will benefit from staying at Doncaster.

Sean O'Driscoll is hoping Jonathan Forte will benefit from spending the rest of the season at Doncaster Rovers.

Forte originally joined the League One club on loan from Sheffield United prior to the start of the campaign.

He has scored eight goals in 36 appearances for Rovers and will now stay at The Keepmoat Stadium until the summer.

Doncaster boss O'Driscoll was happy to finalise the extension and expects Forte to return to Bramall Lane as an improved striker.

"It's good news for us and will benefit Jono with him being settled now," O'Driscoll told the club's official website.

"He brings speed to the front and he is still learning his trade.

"Hopefully when he goes back to United he will be a better player with the experience he gets with us."
