Neil Warnock still feels his Sheffield United side are not getting the credit they deserve, but believes the players are spurred on to silence their critics.
The Blades were pre-season favourites to make an immediate return to the Championship, but they have confounded the sceptics by keeping their heads above water.
Saturday's win over Tottenham lifted them ten points clear of the drop zone and Warnock is delighted with how some of his players have risen to the challenge of Premiership football.
"We all know we have got a lot of hard work [ahead]," Warnock told Sky Sports News. "Everybody wrote us off at the start, so it made us that bit more determined.
"I think one or two players have surprised me, they have lifted themselves from Championship players to established Premier League players and I think you have got to give them credit for that.
"On Saturday there were some great performances from players like (Chris) Lucketti and Derek Geary."
The Blades have 11 games remaining to secure their Premiership status and Warnock is aware of the task at hand.
"We have got 11 games left and we knew the final six home games would be important. They are all difficult, but when you look at the situation it is in our own hands," he declared.
