Blades fret over Lucketti

Chris Lucketti could miss the next few weeks of Sheff Utd's season with a foot injury.

Chris Lucketti could miss the next few weeks of Sheffield United's season with a foot injury.

The experienced defender suffered the problem during the first half of his side's 4-0 defeat at Liverpool on Saturday.

Though The Blades have not received the results of scans on the injury, manager Neil Warnock offered a gloomy outlook.

"We don't know yet how long Chris will be out, but I've been told it could be for a few weeks, so I'm working on the assumption he won't be available," Warnock told the Sheffield Star.

"The physios seem to think he has hurt a ligament at the bottom of his foot, which is quite unusual, but a while ago he had a spur there and so perhaps that might have contributed.

"It might have just popped and caught something he shouldn't, but Chris was in a fair amount of discomfort.

"He's been for some tests and so it shouldn't be too long before we learn exactly what the situation is and how long it will take to heal."

Having seemingly been on his way out of Bramall Lane, Lucketti has established himself in the Blades line-up in recent weeks.

He is out of contract at the end of the season and the centre-half will hope the injury does not damage his prospects of a new deal.
