Scunthorpe striker Billy Sharp has sealed his return to Sheffield United.Billy Sharp has sealed his return to Sheffield United after Scunthorpe accepted an undisclosed bid for the striker.
Last season's top scorer in League One has returned to the club he left in August 2005 on a four-year contract.
Scunthorpe paid just £100,000 for Sharpe and will have made a tidy profit on his sale back to The Blades, as well as landing a player in return.
United youngster Jonathan Forte heads in the opposite direction and has put pen-to-paper on the three-year deal with The Iron.
Sharp had been attracting interest from a number of Championship clubs, including Norwich, Wolves and Sheffield Wednesday.
But it is United who have won the race for the 21-year-old hit-man, who scored an impressive 56 goals in his two seasons away from Bramall Lane.
"I'm delighted to get Billy back here," Blades boss Bryan Robson told the club's official website.
"He's a Sheffield United fan through and through and he has a great desire and love for the club - that's exactly the sort of thing I want at this place.
"He's had a terrific scoring record since becoming a regular and we need more goals than we have had in the last couple of seasons."
