Matthew Spring is determined to help Sheffield United win promotion to the Premier League after being relegated with Watford in 2006/07.
The midfielder, who is on loan at Bramall Lane from Luton, made just a handful of appearances for the Hornets as they failed to avoid the drop.
He wants to prove that he can compete at the highest level and feels the Blades are capable of going up.
"That season was disappointing for me because I felt I deserved to be given an opportunity in the Premier League," Spring told
skysports.com.
"I made 47 appearances for the Hornets the season before to help steer them to promotion and I felt that warranted a chance in the Premier League, but that didn't happen much.
"I want to do as well as I can for me personally and also for the club I'm at, which at the moment is Sheffield United, so I'd love to help them get back into the Premier League."

The 29-year-old struggled to break into Kevin Blackwell's side when he first joined at the start of the season, but he has managed to hold down a place in recent weeks and helped the Blades gain a point from their trip to Swansea City on Saturday, when they had ten men for the majority of the second half.
He said: "Things are going alright at the moment, but I just need to get a proper run in the team and establish myself here, but I feel I'm playing quite well at the moment."
Spring has also paid tribute to James Beattie, who has scored ten goals in 18 league starts this term.
"James is a decent player and he does what it says on the tin, he scores goals. Even if you're not playing well or not creating many chances he always seems to pop up and score one, so that is James in a nutshell really.
"He works hard, like we all do, we've got a great work ethic at Sheffield United and we defend from the front, with James closing down the defenders.
"He's up there with the best of us for running back and winning back possession, so everyone digs in."
