Two more MPs have urged the Football Association to reconsider its decision not to punish Chris Morgan for the challenge which left Iain Hume with a fractured skull.
Barnsley striker Hume had to undergo emergency surgery after being injured in a clash with Sheffield United defender Morgan last month.
Morgan was booked by referee Andy D'Urso after the incident and as such the FA opted not to take any further action.
Barnsley have said they may launch legal action and there has been a clamour from Members of Parliament for the FA to change their decision.
Colin Challen, Labour MP for Morley and Rothwell, and Rudi Vis, Labour MP for Finchley and Golders Green, are the latest officials to back Eric Illsley's Early Day Motion.
Five other MPs have also signed up in support of Illsley.
