Sheffield United midfielder Stephen Quinn insists that they can still qualify for the play-offs this season.
The Blades' bid for a second successive top-six finish was given a huge dent as they suffered only their third home defeat this season against struggling Scunthorpe last Sunday, leaving them seven points adrift.
But Quinn told skysports.com that positive results from the Easter fixtures, which see them host South Yorkshire rivals Barnsley on Saturday before a daunting trip to Newcastle on Monday, will catapult them back into contention.
"We outplayed Scunthorpe and we should have been a few goals up by half-time, but obviously losing that game didn't help our cause," he said.
"Saying that, we will never give up on the hope and chance of making the play-offs because anything can happen between now and the end of the season.
"The likes of Swansea, Cardiff and Leicester all have tough run-ins, so we will keep fighting until the final whistle on the final day of the season.
"These two games will dictate whether we are still in with a chance of the play-offs and we really need to be winning both of them if possible.
"The first one is a huge South Yorkshire derby, which has intensified things with the Chris Morgan saga last season, so it will be an intense and hostile atmosphere.
"We then have to go up to Newcastle and not only spoil their party, but undo their immaculate home record."
