Adams ready for Blades return

Port Vale boss Micky Adams believes he wasn't given a proper chance at Sheffield United ahead of Saturday's FA Cup clash.

Adams will face his former employers for the first time since he was dismissed from the Bramall Lane job. The 51-year-old has played down the emotional return but still believes he could have finished the job in South Yorkshire. He said: "I still maintain, given time, that I would have done the job and taken United back up. I wasn't given time, but I don't bear or hold grudges. I just move on." Adams will be hoping 23-year-old super-sub Ben Williamson continues to impress after netting six times this season, including two in his last two, despite spending much of the campaign on the bench. "Ben has done great," Adams told the Sentinel. "He has scored goals whether we've asked him to come off the bench or start the game. He can be pleased with his contribution so far."
