The Blades have booked themselves a day out at Wembley in English football's most prestigious cup competition, with Premier League outfit Hull City standing between them a final appearance.
The remarkable progress they have made has brought considerable financial rewards, which have been most welcome at a club now turning out in League One.
It could be that those resources will allow Clough to bolster his ranks ahead of a late push for promotion.
Eleven straight victories in all competitions have the Blades flying at present and sat 11 points adrift of the third tier play-off places with games in hand.
Clough hopes United's sparkling form will prove enticing to others as he considers dipping back into the loan market.
He said in the Sheffield Star: "It's definitely a great selling point.
"It just further emphasises what this club is capable of doing when things go well. If you were a player you'd think, 'I fancy being a part of that'."
While Clough will look to add if he can over the coming weeks, he admits that the exploits of those currently at his disposal have offered food for thought.
He added: "Because of what the lads have done, because of the way they've responded and the character and professionalism they've shown, we might not need as many as we thought."
