Plymouth Argyle moved off the bottom of Sky Bet League One as they continued their upturn in fortunes with a 1-0 win at promotion-chasing Bradford on Saturday.

The Pilgrims headed to Valley Parade unbeaten in the previous five matches across all competitions.

Jake Jervis gave Argyle the lead 10 minutes before half-time with a close-range finish, which proved enough for all three points after Bradford's Tony McMahon missed from the penalty spot in the 78th minute.

The defeat saw the Bantams miss the chance to close the gap on leaders Shrewsbury and Wigan, who were both not in action.

Scunthorpe did make up ground on the sides above them after a dramatic stoppage-time goal from midfielder Neal Bishop delivered a 1-0 home win over Bristol Rovers.

Blackpool marked the first home match following the announcement that the Oyston family had put the club up for sale with a 3-2 defeat against Portsmouth.

With 11 minutes left, Ben Close netted his first Pompey goal from close range, only for team-mate Oliver Hawkins to head the ball into his own net to level things up again on 83 minutes.

But as the clocked ticked on to 86 minutes, Pitman headed in at the back post to snatch all three points for the visitors.

Kieffer Moore's goal deep into stoppage time earned Rotherham a 1-1 draw at Yorkshire rivals Doncaster.

Rovers were on course to win the first meeting between the two sides since 2007 when an own goal from Millers' defender Richard Wood put them ahead just after the hour of Saturday's lunchtime kick-off.

However, Moore, on loan from Ipswich, netted his 13th goal of the campaign from a goalmouth scramble in the sixth minute of injury time to earn a point.

Chuks Aneke's goal three minutes before half-time proved enough to give MK Dons a 1-0 home win over Fleetwood.

At the other end of the table, Northampton maintained their improved form with a 2-1 win at Oxford United.
