Walker spent three months with The Seasiders helping them win promotion via the Third Division play-offs, but boss Steve McMahon was unable to agree a fee with Villa counterpart John Gregory.
Instead, McMahon has turned his attention towards Chesterfield striker David Reeves (pictured), who wants to leave Saltergate following The Spireites promotion to Division Two.
Reeves, a former hero with arch-rivals Preston North End, moved to Saltergate in November 1997, and has made over 140 appearances for the club, but Blackpool face competition from Oxford for his services.
Meanwhile, McMahon is hopeful of bringing Charlton star Danny Shittu to the club on a year long loan deal.
Shittu was a revelation for The Seasiders towards the end of last season, but missed the play-off final as his loan deal with the club had expired.
There is little hope of Blackpool signing the promising centre-back on a permanent basis as the Charlton backroom staff believe he is a Premiership star in the making, but McMahon is hoping to persuade counterpart Alan Curbishley to let him spend a season with the club, in an attempt to accelerate his development.
The club are also set for talks with former Wolves keeper Mike Stowell about a possible move to Bloomfield Road.
Stowell is available on a free transfer under the Bosman ruling and was released from Molineux after 11 years with the Midlands club.
