A number of Premiership clubs are thought to be keen on signing the pacey striker and are ready to test Palace's resolve to hang onto the player.
Morrison, who is away at the World Cup with the Republic of Ireland, finished as one of the top scorers in the First Division last season with 24 goals.
Planetfootball.com understands that a number of clubs have made enquiries to Palace over Morrison's availability, but no official bid has been registered.
Morrison is thought to be keen on playing at the highest level in The Premiership to boost his chances of being a regular in the Ireland side.
Reports in London suggest that Addicks boss Alan Curbishley is pondering a £5 million bid for Morrison as he plans for next season.
Everton and Birmingham have also been linked with the outspoken front-man in the past, but Curbishley is reported to be looking to beat them to Morrison's signature.
A move to the Valley could tempt Morrison as it would mean he could stay in the London area and Palace may decide to cash-in on him.
Any move seems unlikely until after the World Cup and Morrison will be hoping to be given the chance to put himself in the shop window with an appearance in the Far East.
