Konchesky looking for big move aid

PAUL KONCHESKY believes he has the required quality to snatch the England left back berth from the likes of Ashley Cole and Wayne Bridge, and feels a move to a major Premiership club will help him achieve his aim.

The 22-year-old, who is looking to secure a move away from Charlton to further his international career, feels he would be able to keep the jersey if given the nod by Three Lions chief Sven Goran Eriksson.

He said: "I feel I'm as good as any left back in the country and will prove that when I play on a regular basis for a big club.

"I feel I'm as good as Ashley Cole and Wayne Bridge and want to push for their position at left back in the full England squad.

"Hopefully I'll get the chance next season to finally show how good I can be. I want to break into the senior squad and stay there.

"If I was playing well at club level and got the chance to play at left back for the senior side, I would not give it up easily."
