Baggies plan double swoop

West Brom boss Gary Megson has conceded that he is still in the hunt for new players as bids to bolster his squad ahead of the new Premiership campaign.

West Brom boss Gary Megson has conceded that he is still in the hunt for new players as he bids to bolster his squad ahead of the new Premiership campaign.

The Baggies are keen to add to their ranks for the season opener against Blackburn on Saturday, with Aruna Dindane and Paul Konchesky thought to be top of Megson's shopping list.

West Brom have already had two bids for Dindane turned down but Megson is now ready to launch a final effort to land the Anderlecht forward.

Charlton left back Konchesky, who spent part of last season on loan at Tottenham, has been a long-term target for Megson in his bid to build a squad capable of top-flight survival.

The Hawthorns chief admits he is keen to add to the seven new faces he has already brought to the Midlands this summer.

''We are working extremely hard to bring more players into the club,'' said Megson.

''But it is easier said than done.

''It would be nice to get everything done and dusted before the start of the season but there are still over three weeks to go before the window closes.''
